Welcome to the Second Annual California Book Club Summit!!

The first California Book Club Summit was a success in every way and by all accounts. A good time was had by all. Authors and attendees have all said how pleased they were to finally have a literary event of this nature in the Northern California Bay Area. By popular demand the 2nd Annual California Book Club Summit is being planned for September 9-12, 2010. The San Ramon Marriott Hotel went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and the retreat-like atmosphere just made the whole weekend feel special. We are once again being offered a very special discount room rate by the Marriott. Even local attendees will want to stay at the hotel for the Summit weekend so they can participate in the after hours events without the hassel of driving home and then coming back for the next day's sessions. The Fabulous Author Lineup is by no means complete and new authors will be signing up each month. We had 26 great authors in 2009 and we will again not exceed 26 authors, so everyone will have an opportunity to meet and listen to their favorites. Click on the Fabulous Author Lineup link to see who's coming so far. A testament to the 2009 event is the list of authors who want to return for 2010.

The Summit activities were such a hit we're not changing much. Thursday will again be devoted to "Campus Day" at the Merritt Community College campus. Friday morning will begin with prayer and speakers during breakfast, then breakout sessions until noon. Lunch will be served while speakers deliver their messages. More breakout sessions. The wine tasting event will be on Friday evening and will be the "meet and greet" gathering on the hotel patio with a great jazz band, featuring wines by African American Vintners. This time some of the vintners will be there to personally educate us on their wines. All of this is included in your registration price. You're on your own for dinner Friday night. We'll have a list of suggested eating places nearby. Saturday morning will begin with prayer and breakfast speakers, break out sessions until lunch time. Again, a list of eateries will be available (in addition to the hotel's restaurant). Breakout sessions will begin again after lunch and continue for the afternoon. Saturday night's awards dinner will honor some of our noted authors. Your registration price includes the meals and sessions listed above. Sunday we will have a gospel fest and an inspirational message during continental breakfast followed by author signings. An African American owned bookstore will be on-site for your book purchasing needs.

We are again offering a payment plan for the Summit registration. The full registration price is $325 and a $50 deposit is required at the time of registration. Payments can be made through the same Paypal link that you register with. A discount registration price of $275 is offered for groups of 10 or more registering together.
